Ley Line is an all female Multi-Lingual Folk and Soul band featuring Kate Robberson, Madeleine Froncek, and Emilie Basez, and Lydia Froncek. After a brief and powerful encounter in the wilderness of southwestern Colorado in 2013, they reunited in Austin to continue harmonizing through voice, ukulele, upright bass, guitar, and percussion. Their experimental international folk style is inspired by curiosity around American folk and world folklore, drawing from experiences abroad and at home.
hy do we call ourselves "Ley Line"? Ley Lines refer to a sacred geometric pattern that overlays the Earth marking places of geographic importance and wonder (the Pyramids, fault lines, Bermuda Triangle). These high-energy points are referenced in various cultures: the "spirit ways" of the Incas, "dragon currents" in Fung shui, and Aboriginal "song lines" or "dream tracks". To the music group, Ley Line, this theory represents a way we track the places and people we cross along this sacred path; a work of art to fulfill through music.
